ABC's of Salvation

What do we mean by the ABC's of Salvation? It is an easy acronym to help lost people understand the way to be saved. We recognized that sometimes this can be confusing and complicated to understand, so we use this! This acronym provides a clear and simple way to explain the spiritual truth of salvation.

A = Accept that you are a sinner
Every one has sinned and has fallen short of the Glory of God. We all need forgiveness.

Romans
3:23
“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”
Romans 6:23 (first half)
“For the wages of sin is death…”
1 John 1:8
“If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.”

B = Believe that Jesus Christ is the son of God, died for our sins, and rose again three days later.

Salvation is based on trusting Jesus' death and resurrection. We must trust and know that Jesus did live and dies and rose again to pay for our sins.
John 3:16
“For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
Romans 5:8
“But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
Acts 16:31
“Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved.”

C = Confess that Jesus is our Lord and Savior and commit our lives to Him daily.
Faith in Christ is expressed through confession and a commitment to follow Jesus and His commandments (Lord's Supper and Baptism).
Romans 10:9–10
“If you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”
1 John 1:9
“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
Matthew 10:32
“Whoever acknowledges me before others, I will also acknowledge before my Father in heaven.”
